Context & The Challenge
Medical patients face a massive paradox: when searching for supplements or post-treatment care products online, they are hit with thousands of unverified options, causing choice paralysis and confusion. Gerovės Klinika decided to launch an exclusive e-health shop (shop.gerovesklinika.lt), but with a unique value proposition: it is not a mass-market online pharmacy. Instead, it is a strict, physician-curated platform featuring only the top recommendations trusted by the clinic’s doctors.
The core design objectives and friction points included:
- The Trust Transfer: The interface had to organically extend the premium, professional atmosphere of the physical clinic into a digital shopping space.
- Simplifying the Chaos: The primary strategic goal was to eliminate the traditional “mega-menu chaos” of online pharmacies and create a hyper-clean, focused categorization specifically split into four pillars: Women, Men, Children, and Problem-Solving Bundles.
- Frictionless Purchasing: Because doctors often direct patients to the store mid-consultation, the shopping loop had to be incredibly rapid, prioritizing instant global search, seamless mobile checkouts, and advanced upselling mechanisms built directly into the micro-interactions.

My Role & Strategy
To bridge the gap between healthcare expertise and commercial efficiency, I designed a minimal, clean, clinical-yet-approachable e-commerce ecosystem. The layout completely rejects flashy discount banners and replaces them with structured, authoritative content blocks.
- Targeted Demographic Architecture: Instead of sorting products by chemical names, the navigation is intuitive, focusing entirely on user-centric categories (Women’s, Men’s, and Children’s Health).
- The “Problem-Solver” Bundles: Knowing that patients often require comprehensive care (e.g., 1st trimester pregnancy kits or post-operative recovery sets), a heavy design focus was placed on custom product bundles. These bundles group multiple items under a single, simplified purchase flow to solve a specific health concern.
- Micro-Conversion Optimization: The entire path to purchase was stripped of unnecessary clicks. We optimized the slide-out cart (Mini-Cart) to act as a silent converter, offering tailored product recommendations and immediate, single-step upsells before the patient even hits the checkout page.

Design & Execution
- Simplified Lifestyle & Age Categorization
We completely streamlined the global information architecture. The clean landing page categories instantly guide users to tailored solutions for Women, Men, or Children, preventing them from feeling lost in a sea of medical terminology. - Solution-Oriented Bundle Architecture
Instead of individual item listings, we created a specialized grid layout for product bundles. Each bundle card acts as a structured recommendation, clearly communicating the medical purpose, included items, and total package value, driving higher Average Order Value (AOV). - Conversion-Driven Mini-Cart & Quick Checkout
The cart experience was re-engineered as a powerful slide-out panel. It features a predictive progress bar (e.g., for free local pickup at Vilnius clinics) and a personalized “Recommended by your Doctor” carousel, transforming a utility screen into an active upselling engine.

The Results
The launched UI/UX framework successfully fulfilled the core strategic product goals:
- Eliminated Search Fatigue: Reduced the time-to-cart flow by providing an ultra-clean layout that removes typical online pharmacy noise.
- Higher Average Order Value (AOV): The intuitive bundle design and persistent cart recommendations naturally encouraged multi-item purchases.
- Seamless Omnichannel Loop: Successfully connected the online portal with the physical clinics by making local, free pickup options a highly visible UX component.
Design Reflection & Strategic Value:
This project redefines what a medical e-commerce store should feel like. By focusing on curation over quantity, the design builds a powerful, continuous relationship between the doctor’s office and the patient’s home. Every user interface element, from the layout of the product filters to the visual hierarchy of the problem-solving bundles, was engineered to turn shopping into an extension of expert healthcare – fostering deep customer loyalty and absolute peace of mind.
